Hi, Iām Cam!
I was born in Cheverly, MD to two hard-working parents who raised me to work for everything I desired. When they discovered my love for drawing and creating images, I was enrolled into my first art class at a very young age. After all, they had to put me somewhere to keep me from drawing owls on the kitchen walls! After the class, the chain reaction was set in motion. I went from making my own sketchbooks from printer paper to asking for an art kit every Christmas and by middle-school, I dabbled in as many mediums as I could get my hands on.
I continued my artistic studies at Hyattsville Middle School as part of their visual arts program. From there, I was enrolled in the visual arts program at Suitland High School where I dabbled in an assortment of mediums ranging from drawing to photography. Needless to say, drawing was the medium that stuck the hardest, but I still held on to a couple other hats.
Fresh out of High school, I was accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA where I majored in Sequential art. After only a semester at SCAD I took a three-year hiatus. During which, I still found ways to create and make art; even taking occasional commissions and working with my own art models until eventually moving back to Maryland where I got my first job as a produce clerk. As I kept my creative brain stimulated with the shifting fruits and vegetables, I made the decision to go back to school and in late 2012, I got my acceptance letter to the Maryland Institute College of art.
Through my studies at MICA, I was able to morph into the artist/ illustrator that I am today and in May of 2016, I got my B.F.A in Illustration. Today, I continue to explore my love for creating images and telling stories through those images and soon, I will be self-publishing my very first indie graphic novel!
